Affordable Art Online by Yellena James
Today’s featured artist is Yellena James, an Oregon-based visual artist and illustrator.
Yellena uses ink, watercolour and gouache to create beautiful images of otherworldly ecosystems. Her work is textured and intricately detailed, often reminiscent of underwater landscapes.
Yellena James has a degree in both graphic design and painting and works as a freelance illustrator when not managing her online store, which is chock full of amazing affordable art pieces.
Yellena says of her process “With each piece I attempt to create an ethereal place which is hypnotically familiar and yet hauntingly exotic, adding tiny little details in a sort of compulsive meditation until a perfect balance is created”.
Her Etsy store is full of beautiful pieces, not just art prints but also resin topped art printed on wood blocks, woman’s t-shirts and stationary.
Yellena has worked with some top brands such as Microsoft and Loreal. A virtual trip to her Etsy store will not disappoint.
